TOURNAMENT BASES

47th EL CID ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
November 1st to 7th, 2021

On behalf of the El Cid Golf & Country Club, the tournament committee cordially invites you and your golfing friends to participate in our Annual International Golf Tournament in its 47th edition. This year, the competition days will take place November 05th, November 06th and November 07th, 2021 while enjoying a fun-filled stay in the beautiful Port City of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico.

The El Cid Golf & C.C. informs all tournament players that the course facilities will be open to them for check in and practice rounds from Monday Nov. 01st to November 4th, 2021. Competition days are from November 5th to November 7th, 2021.

Senior flight players may choose to play in their respective SENIOR flights or in their corresponding regular Flight (Champ, AA, A, B, C or D), but not in both. Minimum age for Seniors is 60 years old. Seniors will play with 80% of their handicap. Seniors flights will play from the gold tees. Maximum handicap index for senior flights is 27.4.

The rest of the gentlemen flights will play without handicap (Championship, AA, A, B, C y D). Maximum handicap index for all regular men flights will be 24.1. Their handicap index will only place players in their respective flight, regular men flight do not play net competition.

Women’s Flights will be determined by number of participants. There will be a minimum of eight (8) players per flight. Ladies will have a maximum handicap index of 34.4. Ladies flights will play with 80% of their course handicap. Ladies will play from the RED tees.

Only amateur players will be allowed to play with 18 years and older with the exception of Championship and AA flights that will have to be 15 years old and older. Players from all flights have to demonstrate an official handicap in GHIN, Golf Canada, SPEI or FMG y their valid index will be from October 15th, 2021. Golf attire is mandatory during practice rounds and competition rounds.

All flights will play of 54 holes under USGA and local rules according to their respective playing format, following USGA and R&A rules of golf and competition.  There will be No CUT.

IMPORTANT

  • Men “D” flight, Senior “B” flight and Ladies “B” flight will play under the STABLEFORD format (point system).
  • Championship, “AA”, A”, “B”, “C”, “Senior A” and “Ladies A” will play under the STROKE PLAY format (strokes). 

ALL THREE COMPETITION DAYS WILL HAVE A DOUBLE SHOTGUN

PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES

Monday, Nov. 01st to Wednesday, Nov. 03rd.

  • Registration and open for practice all day. Prior reservation recommended.
  • SKINS and Betting Pool initial betting.

Thursday, Nov. 04th

  • Registration and open for practice all day. Prior reservation recommended.
  • Putting Tournament –           Qualifying from 10:00am to 3:00pm
    • Putting Finals from 3:00pm to 5:00pm
      • Winner will take $15,000 pesos cash + Tom Garcia 2022 Invitation.
      • 2nd Place will take $5,000 pesos cash.
    • Welcome Dinner Party at 6:00pm
    • Betting Pool and Skins closes at dinner party.

Friday, Nov. 05th

  • First official competition day for all flights. No Cut.
  • Double Scheduled SHOTGUN. 6:15am and 12:00pm
  • Breakfast for all tournament participants and guest at Clubhouse Restaurant.
  • “Taquiza” lunch for all playing participants at the Club House pool terrace.
  • Food and Beverage for all participants on the golf course during tournament play.

Saturday, Nov. 06th

  • Second official competition day for all flights. No Cut.
  • Double Scheduled SHOTGUN. 6:15am and 12:00pm
  • Breakfast for all tournament participants and guest at Clubhouse Restaurant.
  • “Taquiza” lunch for all playing participants at the Club House pool terrace.
  • Food and Beverage for all participants on the golf course during tournament play.

Sunday, Nov. 8th

  • Third and last official competition day for all flights. No Cut.
  • Double Scheduled SHOTGUN. 6:15am and 12:00pm
  • Breakfast for all tournament participants and guest at Clubhouse Restaurant.
  • Food and Beverage for all participants on the golf course during tournament play.
  • Awards Dinner Ceremony at 6:30pm.

  • A SPECIAL RAFFLE FOR $100,000 PESOS IN CASH WILL BE DRAWN AMONG ALL PLAYERS WHO SIGN UP AND PAY PRIOR OCTOBER 18th, 2021. No exceptions.

HOW TO BREAK TIES

  • The ties for ALL flights will be decided using the retrogression of 9, 6, 3, 1 format using the back nine from Sunday (MORO side).

TOURNAMENT ENTRY FEE

  • $8,450.00 PESOS for GENTLEMEN
  • $7,950.00 PESOS for LADIES
  • Optional – $2,500.00 Pesos for Calcuta y Skins
    • Players not previously chosen will enter into a raffle.

KP awards will be limited to only one per hole, so in case of a player winning a KP on more than one KP on the same hole, the one with the highest value will be awarded. Consequently, a single participant will be able to win KPs on different holes. Hole in Ones are not considered KPs, unless, a second Hole in One in the same hole will win the 1st place close to the pin prize on its corresponding hole.   All prizes are in Mexican Pesos.   The Winner of the “Hole in one” will pay the corresponding deductible insurance fee.

In case of disqualification, the player has the right to get his/her earned prizes before the disqualification.

FIELD IS LIMITED TO 240 PLAYERS

The Tournament organizing Committee reserves the right to make any changes to the tournament for the improvement of this event without prior notice. Any problem or controversy that may arise about rules, etiquette or player behavior will be handled by the Honor and Justice Committee and its ruling will be final.
